Le Grand Orchestre du Splendid

In 1977, a few professional musician friends got together to have some fun reinterpreting Ray Ventura and Duke Ellington. What was supposed to be just a shared pleasure among friends quickly became an instant success, and this adventure has been going on for almost 50 years. Thanks to a style that has always defied fashion trends, rhythms drawn from the very roots of jazz, reggae, and swing, and above all, an exhilarating blend of music and humor, the Grand Orchestre du Splendid has long asserted its atypical and iconoclastic personality within French music.
After a 47-year career, several albums, and triumphant performances on stage, the Grand Orchestre du Splendid is still going strong, faithful to its eclectic and numerous audience, more ready than ever to party.

Almost half a century of swing, salsa, fiesta, and delirious performances...
Our diabolical madmen are more determined than ever to share the pleasure they get from cavorting on stage to the joyful rhythms that are their secret. And that's exactly what they do with their new show!
A show featuring original songs that are sharp, salty, and hilarious, taken from their latest double album, as well as covers dedicated to the great jazz hits of French songs from the 1930s and 1940s. Not forgetting, of course, their essential hits, which the orchestra will revisit on the occasion of their upcoming jubilant anniversary (Salsa du Démon, Macao, Radio Pirate, Jazz Volant, Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux ? ...).
A wonderful celebration in store with... “Singers... Enchanters... Delighted to meet you, and singers as sparkling as champagne, virtuoso musicians, sumptuous costumes, hilarious gags and breathtaking special effects... All orchestrated with a huge brass section.”
