Jeanette Berger

After 10 years surrounded by musicians, Jeanette Berger felt the need to refocus, to get back to basics: a one-on-one with her vintage keyboard.

Recording “Do Your Thing” (2nd Studio Album) was a very intense experience, featuring very rich songs (brass sections, gospel choir, organs, rich lyrics and stories…). The album’s release led her to a great deal of personal soul-searching, and songs emerged over the course of the year. Like appointments with herself, inner encounters with her emotions, and the need to reconnect with the essence of what drives her: writing and sharing these snippets of life and emotion.

She allows herself to rediscover her voice through the songs and wanted to create a concept album that goes against the grain—a raw, unvarnished portrayal, with all its flaws but a raw truth.

It’s an album recorded live, from start to finish, like an invitation for the listener to let themselves be carried away by her stories. It’s easy to picture the scene: a small living room with soft lighting, right there, a few armchairs to settle into comfortably, and Jeanette turns on the WurliTzer.

Pausing time for a moment.
We discover a vulnerable Jeanette, yet one who radiates so much light through her songs.
Having made her debut as a singer-pianist with “Blues Prayer” in 2012, Jeanette Berger has since embarked on an intense journey across festivals and iconic venues—from Jazz à Vienne to the New Morning—establishing a Soul & Blues identity that is both powerful and deeply intimate. After two albums acclaimed for their soulful groove and raw sincerity, she now returns to the essentials with this third solo album, driven by her WurliTzer.
And it’s on stage that she truly shines: alone at the keyboard, she makes time stand still and delivers raw, fragile, and luminous songs, where doubts coexist with the zest for life.
With a gentle vulnerability, gospel-inspired passion, and unadorned emotion, Jeanette Berger hits the mark: a sincere presence, a liberating voice, and the rare sensation of witnessing something profoundly true.
