Oiseau de nuit* is a timeless musical journey that blends jazz, cinema, and French chanson.
Inspired by Hollywood’s golden age, Broadway, cabarets, and the great French singer-songwriters, Élodie Frégé draws on songs that have become legendary to craft a repertoire that reflects her own personality.
Inspired by Hollywood’s golden age, Broadway, cabarets, and the great French singer-songwriters, Élodie Frégé draws on songs that have become legendary to craft a repertoire that reflects her own personality.
As the songs unfold, a woman with a thousand faces emerges: by turns seductive, dreamy, wounded, defiant, or free. Dreamed-of loves, lost loves, desires, memories, and illusions interplay like scenes from a unique and personal film, into which a few songs from her own repertoire are woven.
*Oiseau de nuit* thus invites the audience to step into an imaginary cinema—nocturnal and tenderly scandalous—where each song reveals a new facet of the woman performing it.
