Through this little-known facet and brilliancy of the singer is a tradition of black music, which eyeing more particularly to Ray Charles and Nina Simone, who speaks with a strength and a rare authenticity.
Between times of classics signed Willie Dixon, Arthur Hamilton and Doc Pomus and personal compositions, Robin McKelle also revisits with originality and happiness titles by Leonard Cohen, the brothers Gibb (The Bee Gees), or Lennon / McCartney, all with a strong team including Fred Wesley (trombone history of James Brown), who signs two splendid arrangements and the legendary saxophonist Houston Person on two incendiary blues.
