Hailing from Brussels, Belgium, Milla Brune is one of those artists who, through a multitude of musical experiences and collaborations, have built and created her own musical universe. With her EP “The Other Woman”, Milla Brune explores and experiments an acoustic and minimalist approach centered around the strength, sensibility and fragility of her voice.
Somewhere between urban pop-soul and folk, her music is an emotional reflection coming straight from the heart & soul. Having grown up in a musical environment where classical music, baroque and jazz were omnipresent, she used that to create her own personal influences of soul and rhythm & blues.
At the age of 10, after losing her father, music becomes the essential center-point of her life, her passion becomes the only way of expression of her otherwise introverted childhood.
In 1997 she collaborates with JOHN ARCADIUS, a world music artist from Benin, who she tours with in West-Africa and Europe. Her encounter with ZAP MAMA leads to touring as band-member all across the globe for a couple of years. In different musical register, she has been the vocalist for American rapper GURU and his Jazzmatazz project for his European live-shows during 2006. Then, in 2007, she is asked by afro-rap artist BALOJI to join him as lead singer for shows throughout Europe, Canada and Brazil.
In 2012 she decides it is about time to focus on her solo-career and puts out a first EP entitled “The Other Woman”. She collaborated with differents artists like Junior Jack, Pomrad or Quentin Mosimann. She is now working on a new album.
